Join trail riding enthusiasts for a week-end of camping and riding the trails at beautiful Elk City Lake. Experience Ozark-like topography only open to horseback riders twice a year. This is a free ride, free food, free camp and free fun. Please let us now if you are coming so we can plan for the burgers & hot dogs!
Elk City Lake - 7 miles northwest of Independence, KS on Hwy 75 or 4 miles south of Hwy 400/75 Junction. Turn west on 5400 Road and follow road toward dam and outlet camp.
Friday, May 16 - Campers may arrive at Outlet Campground. Area includes pit toilets, water hydrant, primitive camping, and shelter hourse with electricity. No camping fees on this special week-end.
Sat., May 17 - 9 am - Trail riders leave camp. Pack your own lunch.
6 pm - Potluck dinner at shelter house (burger and hot dogs provided - bring dish to share)
Sun., May 18 - 9 am - Ride out. Return to camp by noon.
